Super Hedging Expert Advisor / Robot Forex Trading Setting Guide

www.belajarvalas.com | Belajar Trading Forex (Valas)www.learnforexpro.com | Learn Forex Trading Free Forex Training, Tutorial and Guide by LearnForexPro.com
For safer trading, we recommend you not to change the original settings (default) unless you have enough experience in trading with LearnForexPro's "Super Hedging" Expert Advisor. However you may change MaxRiskPercentage to meet your risk tolerance

Tip to be successfully trading with "Super Hedging" Expert Advisor is by trying the EA as long as possible in demo accounts directly. Without trying directly (forward test) in various market conditions (both trending and sideways), you will not be able to make profit consistently with it.

Default settings of Expert Advisor "Super Hedging" is the Hedging Strategy, this strategy is suitable for strong trending market.

The most important factor to be successful in trading with Hedging Strategy is : CAPITAL AMOUNT compared to initial lot size used. The stronger your capital, the safer and more profitable this EA. The minimum deposit we recommend ($500 for micro accounts and $5000 for mini accounts) is very limited and should be carefully traded.

WARNING :
Risks that must be understood when you use the Expert Advisor with a very limited capital :
  1. There is bigger possibility to get loss as the capital is not strong enough to withstand loss. (Default risk is 100% will be cut loss)
  2. Losses will happen more often or you will need to cut loss more often. This will cause you need more time to restore profit you have lost

How to set EA parameters quickly by using presets

If you frequently use a particular personal EA setting, please use presets. Preset is a file that contains trader's favorite EA setting.

As an example, a trader wants to use a setting which is different from the default setting. As usual, the trader simply needs to execute the EA by double clicking Super Hedging EA, and after EA window appears, click on Input tab. Change the settings you want, when you're done, click "Save" to save the settings in a preset file. To load a personal setting, you can click on "load", select the file you saved, and click OK to execute the EA according to the personal setting.

Making a descriptive preset name is important, if you use multiplier 2 and timelimit true, then you may use Multi2TLimit.set for an example to easily identify the setting in the future.

EA Setting for beginners

If you are a beginner who is still confused, please use the default settings or use 3 main settings as follows
  1. Mode = example h2, hn, hn2, ht, ht2, etc.
  2. LotSize = please adjust LotSize based on your capital and minimum lot allowed by your broker
  3. MaxRiskPercentage = maximum tolerable risk (in percent)
Detailed explanation regarding three settings above can be read below :

"Super Hedging" Feature and Setting Guide
    1. Mode
      Value :
      normal (default)
      Hedging : h, h2, hn, hn2, ht, ht2
      Averaging : a, at, an, ahl, myav, myav2 (averaging is only for eligible Live Account in B Class Platform)

      Mode is a setting to allow traders use the most common EA settings quickly and practically. Mode is similar to a preset, but mode has built in settings embedded in the EA.

      Mode field must be filled with lower-case letters, without quotation marks, and no spaces. One mode can not be mixed with other modes. For example you want to use hedging multiplier 2, then simply fill in h2 in mode field and click OK. You can not combine 2 mode at the same time, for example: "h2 hn"

      By entering, for example : h2 mode. The EA will then automatically input these settings

      Mode h2 Parameter :
      Averaging=false
      TimeLimit=false
      Hedging=true
      Multiplier=0
      GapAdjustment=false

      Filling h2 in "mode" field is the same as setting the five setting above manually one by one and leave the other settings remain default.

      Important tip to keep in mind is settings other than five settings above is kept in standard value and not changed. If you want to use a mode and intend to change other value for an addition. Please input the mode, change other setting's value, and then click OK.

      You can also save "mode" and additional settings in presets as usual.

  1. Close All Position

    1. CloseAllPair
      Value : true or false (default)

      CloseAllPair is a feature to manually close all positions and all pair at the same time. Please set true to close all open positions and pending orders of the same pair. Make sure you get enough profit while using this feature for scalping purposes as if market price is moving fast while you are in the process of closing all positions, you may get losses. (EA needs more time to close more than one open positions)

    2. CloseAll
      Value : true or false (default)

      CloseAll is a feature to manually close all positions of the same pair at the same time. Please set true to close all current pair's open positions and pending orders. Make sure you get enough profit while using this feature for scalping purposes as if market price is moving fast while you are in the process of closing all positions, you may get losses. (EA needs more time to close more than one open positions)

  2. Basic Parameter

    1. EALoop
      Value : 1 (default), 2, 3, .. etc. or 0 (zero = non stop)

      EALoop is a setting for how many loops (rounds) EA will be running. If you set 2 means that EA will be running 2 times a before EA stops. Namely after the first round is closed, EA will remain ON and open position from the beginning again (second loop). After the second loop closing, EA will be OFF

      To allow the EA to run continuously without stopping (non stop), you can set EALoop to zero (0). Each time EA is closed, EA will remain ON and open new positions from the beginning again. EA will continue to open new positions after every closing happens. Looping will remain ON like this until you turn off the EA with "CloseAll" or remove the EA manually.

      It is advised not to set EALoop 0 as this setting could be dangerous if your capital is not enough / limited. Please use TimeLimit ON instead of EALoop 0. For beginners, use only EALoop 1 for safer trading.

    2. LotSize
      Value : 0.1 (default), 0.2, 0.01, 1.00, 0.25, etc. (LotSize Decimal depends on capital and forex platform used)

      LotSize setting is open position initial lot. You can use fractional amount, the decimal digits depends on CAPITAL and PLATFORM used. For mini forex platform, you can use 0.1 incremental. Example: 0.2, 0.9, 1.0, 1.5, 5.0 etc. While micro forex platform, you can use 0.01 incremental, for example: 0.02, 0.25, 1.25, 10.00 and so forth.

    3. TimeLimit
      Value : false (default)

      TimeLimit is a setting to limit open new trades in a time range (12 to 21 wib / 5-14 GMT EST) instead of running for 24 hours. During the time period, EA will always run and looping continuously. When it is closed, EA will always open a new position while current time is still within the range.

      TimeLimit setting is almost the same as setting the EA 24 hours (EALoop = 0) nonstop. The different factor is EA will only run in the range. For beginner EALoop settings can be left default (no need to change) To enable TimeLimit, please set true

    4. CloseOneCloseAll
      Value : true (default) or false

      CloseOneCloseAll is a setting to automatically close all open position while one open position is closed. If CloseOneCloseAll is set to false, while one of open position is closed, the other positions will remain open. Unless there is no open position, all pending order will be closed even CloseOneCloseAll is set false. Usually setting false CloseOneCloseAll is to interfere the EA manually (Setting CloseOneCloseAll is to false is not recommended unless you are skillful enough in using Super Hedging EA)

    5. AutoCalculateLot
      Value : true or false (default)

      AutoCalculateLot setting is to calculate initial lot amount automatically according to current capital. When you set true, initial lot size setting will not use "LotSize" parameter but will be automatically adjusted based on your current capital balance. AutoCalculateLot setting should be used with LotEquityRatio feature. To enable this feature please set true.

    6. OnlyAllowDecreaseLot
      Value : true (default) or false

      OnlyAllowDecreaseLot will only work if EALoop is set greater than 1 or 0 (non stop). OnlyAllowDecreaseLot will allow EA to use smaller initial lot than previous loop when there is loss / capital decreasing. If the EA get profit, next loop lot size will remain the same as the previous lot. (No Increase, Decrease Only).

      If this feature is turned off, the lot size of the next loop will be automatically calculated based on amount of capital available. While the EA get profit and capital is increasing, the next lot size will be increased, while there are losses and capital is reduced, the next loop's lot size will be decreased. To turn off this feature please set false.

    7. LotEquityRatio
      Value : 1,2,3,..etc

      LotEquityRatio setting is to calculate the number of initial lot size automatically based on lotsize to capital ratio. (lotsize amount is counted by number of times of the capital). LotEquityRatio WILL ONLY work when AutoCalculateLot has been set true.

      To use lotsize amount of 2x capital. Please fill in 2 on LotEquityRatio. Example: Your capital is $1250, trading on micro lot platform, LotEquityRatio 2. In this case, initial lot used is 1250 x 2 = 2500 or 0.025 (rounded to 0.03). For $1100 capital, trading on micro lot platform, LotEquityRatio 2. In this case, initial lot used is 1100 x 2 = 2200 or 0.022 (rounded to 0.02).

    8. CloseWhileHedgingProfit
      Value : 0, 5, 10 (default), etc (in point)

      CloseWhileHedgingProfit is a setting for automatically close full hedging order caused by improper manual intervention by trader. Full hedging positions will prevent his EA to work properly. Example: CloseWhileHedgingProfit 10, when the profit is reaching 10 points or more it will close the current profitable position.

  3. Safer

    1. Start_Safer
      Value : false (default) or true

      Start_Safer setting is to close all positions in small profit / cut BEP (break-even) / or Cut Loss during high level positions for protection.

      Important ! This feature will not work if current price has never touched its BEP point. (unless you have set Safer_Money_CutLoss). Safer_Money_CutLoss will still work as a protector eventhough current price has never touched its BEP point.

      For example, if you set safer start at level 6, when the level has reached level 6, but the price has never touched the point of total profit 0 (BEP or break-even) then this feature will not be activated and your positions will not be safe unless you have entered Safer_Money_CutLoss value.

      Activating Safer feature, Super Hedging will always wait for opportunity until BEP point is touched. If there is no chance in the current level, EA will be looking for opportunities on the next level. Therefore it is suggested that "Safer_EndLevel" is always set to 0 (unlimited)

      This feature is created to secure the critical positions (cut loss / BEP / small profit) at high-level (eg level 5, 6 and higher). To enable this feature, please set Start_Safer True

    2. Safer
      Value : 3 (default), 0, -3, etc (in point)

      Safer is cut BEP / cut loss / cut profit amount in point.

    3. Safer_Money_CutLoss
      Value : 100 (default), 300, 500, etc (in dollar, do not enter minus value)

      Safer_Money_CutLoss is a feature to cut loss all position in a specific level and amount. The default value of 100 is best fit for mini lots (around $1 per pip). In case you use micro lots, you may adjust the value to a smaller amount, for example $10.

      This setting will be optimal when it is set at high level to protect positions from margin call. For example if the Safer_StartLevel is 5 and Safer_Money_CutLoss is $100 then at level 5 when total loss in deposit amount is less or equal than $100, all positions will be cut loss. If the current total loss is still greater than the value you set (eg, current total loss is now $300) it will not be cut loss until it goes to $ 100 or less.

      At the next levels, Safer_Money_CutLoss value will be increased automatically by Safer_Multiplier according to the value you set. For Safer_Money_CutLoss=100 and Safer_Multiplier=3, at level 6 Safer_Money_CutLoss will be automatically set at 1x100x3=300, level 7 is 600, and so on. (detailed calculation formula will be explained on Safer_Multiplier section below)

      Safer_Money_CutLoss value is increased by Safer_Multiplier to anticipate level increasing as lot size will often doubled at the next levels. We suggest you are willing to cut loss at earlier level (lets say starts at level 5) before things go worse and losses become larger.

    4. Safer_Multiplier (this setting is exclusive for eligible Live Account in B Class Platform)
      Value : 3 (default), 0, 1, and above 1, example : 1.5, 2.5, etc

      Safer_Multiplier is a setting to enlarge (multiply) Safer_Money_CutLoss value automatically each time there is level increasing. There are 3 options you can choose : 0, 1, or more than 1. Especially for more than 1, you can use 2 digits decimal for example : 1.25, 1.50, 2.50, and so on.

      Safer_Multiplier Setting will only work if Start_Safer true and Safer_Money_CutLoss is set more than 0. This setting will be optimal when used at higher levels to protect from Margin Call due to insufficient / limited fund. It is advisable to try Safer_Multiplier, Safer_StartLevel, and Safer_Money_CutLoss value at demo account to find out the optimal setting that will suit your trading style

      Example :

      Basic Setting :
      Safer_StartLevel=5
      Safer_Money_CutLoss=100

      Safer_Multiplier=0 :
      Safer_Money_CutLoss value will be kept fixed each level without any incremental. For example if you use Safer_Money_CutLoss=100 then it will remain $100 at each level starting from Safer_StartLevel you set.

      Safer_Multiplier=1 :
      By using this setting, at level 5, Safer_Money_CutLoss is set at default value of $100. At the next level (level 6) Safer_Money_CutLoss is set $200, at level 7 Safer_Money_CutLoss is set $300 and so on. The first digit will determine the next sum. For example 100 for 3 digits Safer_Money_CutLoss or 10 for 2 digits Safer_Money_CutLoss.

      Another example is : Safer_Money_CutLoss=125, then the sequence starting from level 5 is $125, $225, $325, and so on.

      Safer_Multiplier=2 :
      By using this setting, at level 5, Safer_Money_CutLoss is set at default value of $100. At the next levels Safer_Money_CutLoss value can be calculated as :

      (Current Level - Safer_StartLevel) x Safer_Multiplier x Safer_Money_CutLoss.

      The sequence starting from level 5 is $100, $200, $400, and so on.

      Calculation details : level 6 : (6-5)*2*100 = $200, level 7 : (7-5)*2*100 = $400, etc.

      Safer_Multiplier=3 :
      By using this setting, at level 5, Safer_Money_CutLoss is set at default value of $100. At the next levels Safer_Money_CutLoss value are set at 300, 600, 900, etc.

    5. Safer_StartLevel
      Value : 5 (default), 7, 8, etc

      Safer_StartLevel is a setting to activate Safer feature at a specific level

      This setting will be optimal when it is set at high level to protect from the margin call. Calculate carefully by trying in demo account to find out at what level you have to enable Safer feature.

    6. Safer_EndLevel
      Value : 0 (default), 7, 8, etc

      Safer_EndLevel is a setting to deactivate Safer feature at a specific level

      We recommend this setting is always set to 0 (unlimited), to protect from the Margin Call at critical levels.

  4. Incremental Range

    1. Increase
      Value : 15 (default), 20, 25, etc (in point)

      Increase is the setting to widen the distance of each position on the next level. This feature is very important and must be used to reduce the risk if you trade with hedging strategy
      It will always have 2 opposite sides, namely: If the increase value is too wide, it will be more secure in most cases but takes longer time to get profit. If the increase is too small, it will have more risk but it needs less time to get profit. To turn off this feature, please input 0. (It is not recommended to change this feature unless you have mastered Super Hedging trading strategy).

    2. IncreaseStartLevel
      Value : 2 (default), 3, etc

      IncreaseStartLevel is a setting to activate Increase feature on a specific level.

      By setting IncreaseStartLevel 2, the distance / range between the positions will be increased at level 2.

      To work properly, IncreaseStartLevel must be set greater than 0.

    3. IncreaseEndLevel
      Value : 0 (default), 3, etc

      IncreaseEndLevel is a setting to deactivate Increase feature on a specific level.

      By setting IncreaseEndLevel 0, means that the distance / range between the position will always be increased. (unlimited) IncreaseEndLevel value must be greater than IncreaseStartLevel. To work properly, IncreaseEndLevel feature must be set greater than IncreaseStartLevel or 0 (always increased on the next level).

  5. Hedging Strategy

    1. Hedging
      Value : true (default) or false

      Hedging is a strategy to exploit breakout trading system with hedging technique. To turn off Hedging strategy, please set Hedging value to false.

    2. HedgeGap
      Value : 23 (default), 25, 30, etc (in point)

      HedgeGap is a distance (gap) between initial buy and sell positions. To allow Hedging strategy to work properly, HedgeGap feature must be true

    3. Multiplier
      Value : 0 (default), 1.5, 2, etc (Allowed max is 2 digits decimal)

      Multiplier is multiplier ratio of the following open position's lot. The default setting of 0 is safe. However you may input different setting as you wish. By setting the multiplier to 2, the following position's lot is doubled (2x) previous positions lot. Example: 1,2,4,8, etc.

      By setting the multiplier to 3, the multiplier lot is 1,3,9, etc. (very dangerous).

      By setting the multiplier to 1, the multiplier lot sequence is : 1,2,3,4, etc. For safety use only default 0 to 2. (It is not recommended to change this feature unless you have mastered Super Hedging).

    4. TakeProfit
      Value : 150 (default), 200, etc (in point)

      TakeProfit is a second priority take profit level, TakeProfit should be input above 150 to avoid loss. Increasing range can cause losses if TakeProfit is set too low. The primary TakeProfit level is replaced by Trailing Stop function in Super Hedging. TakeProfit serves as secondary / backup TP level.

      Therefore, do not disable Trailing Stop for safety.

    5. Stop Loss
      Value : 0 (default), 100, etc (in point)

      Stop Loss is recommended to be left at default 0. When you set 0, EA will automatically set Stop Loss by its calculation. Setting Stop Loss to 0 is important. Filling Stop Loss with wrong value can be very harmful. If you dont know much, please leave this setting as default

    6. GapAdjustment
      Value : true or false (default)

      GapAdjustment is a feature to automatically adjusting the distance gap while slippage occurs. This feature is useful if gaps occur at the time of ordering new positions. To enable GapAdjustment, please set to true (It is not recommended to change this feature unless you have mastered Super Hedging)

  6. Averaging Strategy (averaging is only for eligible Live Account in B Class Platform)

    1. Averaging
      Value : true or false (default)

      Averaging is a strategy to optimize averaging technique which has been mentioned in "Trading Strategy" page, the Quantum. To enable Averaging please set to true

    2. AveragingHedgeGap
      Value : 20 (default), 25, 30, etc (in point)

      AveragingHedgeGap is a gap between initial buy position to the next buy, or between initial sell position to the next sell. To enable AveragingHedgeGap, Averaging feature must be set true

    3. AveragingMultiplier
      Value : 2 (default), 1, 1.5, 1.75, etc (decimal is allowed)

      AveragingMultiplier is lot size incremental ratio for the next position. Default setting of 2 is considered to be safe enough to use. By setting multiplier to 2, the lot size for next position is doubled. Example: 1,2,4,8, and so on. If you set multiplier to 3, the sequence is 1,3,9, and so on. (very dangerous). By setting 1, lot size multiplier is: 1,2,3,4, and so on. If you set multiplier to 0. the next lot size will be the same as initial LotSize setting. Example: 1, 1, 1, and so on. For safety please use multiplier 0 to 2 only. (Unless you are very skillful in trading)

    4. AveragingTakeProfit
      Value : 50 (default), 20, 25, etc (in point)

      AveragingTakeProfit is secondary Take Profit level. You can set any value you want. The AveragingTakeProfit is only a backup Take Profit level

    7. StartFromHiLow
      Value : false (default) or true

      StartFromHiLow is a feature that allows EA to open Buy and Sell positions whenever market price is approaching daily high low extreme points to minimize the risk of Averaging technique. StartFromHiLow is created based on thought that after market makes a large daily high low range, market price is likely to reverse after reaching daily high or low points.

      For example : Current Hi Low range is 200 points for GBP/USD pair, after hiking to high of the day, market price is likely to go down than moving upward. This also happens to low of the day. Hence EA will open limit sell around daily high and limit buy around daily low.

    8. MinimumHiLowRange
      Value : 100 (default), 130, etc (in point)

      MinimumHiLowRange is a minimum daily high low range to trigger EA to open pending limit buy and sell positions. For example, current daily high low range is less than 100 points, MinimumHiLowRange value is previously set to 100 then EA will not open any positions until current high low range reaches at least 100 points. To enable MinimumHiLowRange, StartFromHiLow must be set true

    9. RangeFromHiLow
      Value : 5 (default), 10, etc (in point)

      RangeFromHiLow is gap among pending limit Sell to current daily High price and gap among pending limit buy to current daily Low price. Value of 5 means that EA will order Limit Sell 5 points away above and at the same time order Buy Limit away below current Low price. This setting is useful to prevent Limit pending orders from being touched whenever daily high or low price are touched (as daily high or low breakout is usually confirmed by testing points above high or below low). In this case sell limit order will be set at high + RangeFromHiLow and buy limit order will be set at low - RangeFromHiLow

  7. Initial Order

    1. InitialOrder
      Value : auto (or "a") (default), manual (or "m"), buy auto (or "ba"), or sell auto (or "sa"). Fill only with all small letters, for buy auto and sell auto, you must use a space between them. . For manual, auto buy, and auto sell you can use abbreviations. For example, just "a", "m", "ba", or "sa" without the quotation marks ( ").

      InitialOrder is initial open order setting at the first time Expert Advisor is ON.

    2. ShortEMA
      Value : 5 (default), 10, etc. (according to timeframe you set)

      ShortEMA is a signal decision maker for auto setting in initial order option. When you use the EA on the 1 minute chart timeframe means that ShortEMA 5 is based on average value of 5 bars EMA calculation in 1 minute chart. ShortEMA MUST be smaller than LongEMA, otherwise the signal will be reversed. (false)

    3. LongEMA
      Value : 14 (default), 20, 50, 100, etc. (according to timeframe you set)

      LongEMA is a signal decision maker for auto setting in initial order option. LongEMA has the same calculation formula with ShortEMA. TrailingStop works to protect (lock) profit you have got. Example: Stop trailing is set to 20 points, means that if your profit is more than 20 points, for example 25. The rest of 5 points profit will be locked automatically. When the market moves against traders position, the position will be closed with 5 points profit. Please note that Super Hedging Trailing Stops operates by closing positions in market price. That means if market is moving fast, locked profit could still slip and turn to minus.

      To learn more about Trailing Stop, please read Tutorial Part 2

      This feature is different from typical trailing stop built in MetaTrader, as it can lock profit under 15 points. We provide 4 levels depth of trailing stop that can be adjusted independently in multiple levels.

      Remember ! Avoid using too small Trailing Stop level unless for cutting BEP / cutting losses in high / critical levels). Setting too low Trailing Stop value may cause some positions closed in minus when market is moving while you are in the process of closing positions

    2. TrailingStopStartLevel
      Value : 2, 3, etc.

      TrailingStopStartLevel is setting to activate Trailing Stop feature at a specific level

You may not put TS 1 : Start level 1, End level 3 and put TS 2 : Start level 4, End level 0. (note that the first trailing stop ends at level 3 and the second trailing stop starts at 4 (there is gap). However overlap is allowed, example : TS 1 : Start level 1, End level 3 and put TS 2 : Start level 2, End level 0)

      When 2 or more trailing Stop overlap, it will not be an error, but it is better as protected by 2 or more layers. To allow TrailingStopStartLevel to work properly, trailing Stop feature must be set true

    3. TrailingStopEndLevel
      Value : 0, 4, 8, etc.

      Rebound will be activated while profit is more than Trailing Stop level (more than 15 points) and the Rebound point is at : Highest Price - Rebound (Example : Current position is at 40 points profit, rebound will be activated on 40-5 = 35 points are locked in profit. If total loss has reached $ 5000 or more, all positions will be liquidated.

      Tips :
      Either MaxRiskPercentage or MaxLoss should be filled to protect your account. There are always 2 opposite sides in forex trading. If you set MaxRiskPercentage larger, it will be more profitable, as your position will not be easily liquidated in loss. However larger amount will be followed by higher risk (High Risk High Reward)

      By setting MaxRiskPercentage at small amount, it will be less profitable, more often cut loss, but with smaller risk.
